Zoho vs Gmail, it is as good as saying Marvel vs DC. Like both DC and Marvel have their own fanbase, Zoho and Gmail Both have their own loyal user base, who won’t quit using their favorite clients for any odd reason. But, it makes difference when it comes to a neutral user base who doesn't care about favouritism but cares about the features each offers and what features are of most use to them.

On surface both clients are almost same but let’s check in depth offerings of each.

What is zoho mail

Zoho Mail is a secure and reliable business email solution tailor-made for your organization's communication needs. With enhanced collaboration features, it's not just an inbox—it's more.

What is Gmail

Gmail is a free email service provided by Google. As of 2019, it had 1.5 billion active users worldwide making it the largest email service in the world.

Storage

Storage is the driving factor for someone whose partial time goes on email. Although, most emails are small in data but the attachments and buildup of messages can quickly add up! So you may want to take a look at how much pocket space each offers.

Gmail storage

Every Gmail user is provided with 15 gigabytes (GB) of complimentary storage space. Given that the average size of an email is approximately 75 kilobytes (KB), you can store over 5 million messages in your inbox before it becomes full. Unfortunately, this 15 GB of storage is shared across your complete Google account, including your Google Drive and Google Photos cloud storage.

Individuals who use Gmail can upgrade to a Google One account for additional storage space. Google One users have access to 100 GB of storage, which is nearly 10 times the amount of storage available with a free account. Moreover, Google Workspace (business accounts) users can designate specific storage amounts for their company, with pricing based on the amount of storage and the number of users.

Zoho storage:

With the permanently free Zoho Mail account, users obtain 5 GB of storage space. This storage is exclusive to your Zoho Mail account, so despite being roughly a third of the space Gmail provides, it is not shared with other cloud storage services.

Like Gmail, Zoho offers storage space expansion options via paid upgrades. Choose the Mail Lite plan to transfer up to 10 GB of mailbox storage, or the premium plan to increase storage to 50 GB.

Security

Another important aspect of to worry about as an individual and company same is security. Phishing is a prevalent problem with electronic communication, and identity thieves have also resorted to using emails to collect personal information. Comparing Gmail versus Zoho necessitates a comparison of their security features.

Zoho mail:

According to Zoho Mail, its servers are located in highly secure data centres. Additionally, Zoho employs 256-bit SSL encryption and software security measures to protect your data. To ensure the security of your account, Zoho Mail offers two-factor authentication via SMS or Google Authenticator. In addition, Zoho Mail provides spam filtration services that check IP addresses against blacklists.

Gmail:

Gmail also offers encryption and advanced security measures for messages. It supports two-factor authentication and has measures in place to require users to take additional steps if a fraudulent login is detected. However, Gmail's 99.9 percent accurate spam filtering services are where it truly excels. In addition to blacklisting and whitelisting, Google employs advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to prevent spam from accessing your email inbox. Any messages suspected of being spam will also be accompanied by a warning that indicates Gmail believes the message to be spam.

Pricing

Neither of the clients are considered generous in terms of pricing. It all depends on the services you choose and whether or not you’re content with the normal domain.

Gmail:

Gmail offers free for life plans to users who are fine with an @gmail.com domain on their address and the 15 GB storage cap. If you need more storage, Google One offers that for your personal Google account, starting at $19.99 per year for 100 GB. If you are looking for a business account, meaning you want addresses with a custom domain, starting at $6/month per user.

Zoho mail:

Zoho Mail offers a lifetime free plan with a 5 GB storage limit. In contrast to Gmail, however, you can use the free plan if you have a commercial domain. If you need to add more users, increase your storage space, or want additional features, you must pay extra. Paid plans for Zoho start at $1.25 per month per user, while a comparable plan for Gmail costs $4 per month per user.
